Monday, August 31, 2026, the City of Davis was honored to welcome an incredible group of motorcycle riders from Australia who are making an extraordinary 16-day journey across America — and we're especially grateful that Davis and Turner Falls were part of their journey.
The 2026 Australian Firefighter Motorcycle Tour is traveling from Los Angeles to New York to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11th and honor the 343 firefighters who gave their lives while serving others on that tragic day in 2001.
Their journey is about more than the miles they are traveling. It is a journey of remembrance, respect, brotherhood, and honoring the sacrifice of 343 heroes who will never be forgotten.
During their visit, the riders stopped at Iron Wolf Coffee House, supporting one of our local businesses while enjoying a taste of what makes Davis special. Stops like this have a real economic impact — from our coffee shops and restaurants to gas stations, lodging, retail stores, attractions, and other local businesses. Tourism dollars circulate throughout our community, helping support local businesses, employees, and families.
This is one of the reasons we are so proud to welcome visitors to Davis. Whether you're passing through for a few hours, staying for a weekend, enjoying Turner Falls, grabbing a cup of coffee, having dinner, shopping in town, or filling up before your next adventure — your visit matters to Davis.
To our friends from Australia — thank you for stopping in Davis, visiting Turner Falls, supporting a local business, and allowing our community to be a small part of your incredible journey. It was a pleasure meeting you and learning more about the meaning behind this very special ride. As you make your way toward your final destination, we wish you safe travels and hope every mile brings even greater meaning to the incredible tribute you are making.

Thank you for visiting Davis — and to all of our visitors, thank you for being such an important part of our community and local economy!
